Nail Surgery is a safe, minor outpatient procedure performed to resolve painful conditions such as chronic ingrown toenails, nail matrix disorders, or severe nail infections. Our primary treatment involves a partial nail avulsion, where we remove the narrow sliver of the nail that is digging into the surrounding skin, followed by chemical matricectomy (using phenol) to prevent the side of the nail from growing back and causing future issues.

What to Expect During the Procedure
The toe is thoroughly sterilized and numbed using a local anesthetic block (digital nerve block). The ingrown portion of the nail is carefully cut and removed from the root. A clinical solution (phenol) is applied to the exposed nail matrix to prevent regrowth of the side nail. The toe is dressed in a soft, sterile bandage.
